It is with great sadness that we announce Kim Bierle Pierre SD’s untimely death. True enough, Kim Bierle is no longer with us. She has died. The well-liked volleyball coach Kim Bierle lived in Pierre, South Dakota.
The information states that coach Kim Bierle died after a long and valiant fight with cancer. According to reports, cancer was the cause of her death. With her loved ones by her side, Kim Bierle passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
The news of Kim Bierle’s death was authenticated and conveyed by Peirre Governer Volleyball through a heartfelt Facebook post that reads “It is with great sadness that we inform the Governor faithful that today we have lost one of the best coaches, mentors, teachers and friends, Kim Bierle. Coach Bierle passed away today surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with cancer. Rest easy cowgirl, we’ll take it from here.”
Bobbie Ziegler stated, “I learned the news this early evening, as I sat and remembered Kim the tears fell,” after learning of coach Bierle’s passing. Coach Kim Bierle, may you rest in peace! In high school, Kim was both my coach and instructor! Volleyball and basketball… The Lady Chieftains of Crow Creek She was among the greatest! We would pick up where we left off each time we saw one another, regardless of how much time had passed. We’d laugh and joke. I always made sure she and Deb were aware of their advanced age, haha. Many people will miss this woman. I am aware that she had an impact on my family’s life as well as many others.
Kim Bierle and the 1991 State Girls Basketball Champions have been inducted into the Riggs High School Hall of Fame. After 32 years in Pierre, Coach Bierle has 38 years of coaching experience. With a 9–12 record going into the state tournament, the 1991 Lady Govs were seeded seventh. They won by a six-point edge throughout the competition.
