Ryan Broadhead Utah Obituary: Utah County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ryan Dee Broadhead passed away in a sad circumstances.
The sudden death of Deputy Ryan Dee Broadhead on March 10, 2025, is tragically announced by the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
A devoted cop, Deputy Broadhead was also a devoted parent and spouse and a beloved friend to many. The neighborhood, coworkers, and family all feel an incalculable gap in their hearts due to his unexpected passing.
On December 26, 1995, Richard and Karen Broadhead welcomed Ryan into the world in Salt Lake City, Utah. He finally settled in Santaquin with his cherished wife, McKenzie, and their two kids, Liam and Sophia, despite the fact that his family had moved about a lot. He thought of Payson as his hometown.
From a young age, Ryan was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, often making those around him laugh—even when it got him into trouble. His creativity was boundless, filling sketchbooks with artwork, designing his own tattoos, and always working on some sort of project.
He was also a gifted athlete, participating in soccer, wrestling, and even earning the title of 5th-grade pogo stick champion. However, his true passion was the outdoors, where he spent time hiking, rock climbing, camping, and later, hunting.
After graduating from Payson High School in 2014, Ryan pursued a career in law enforcement, graduating from POST in July 2018. He began his career as a corrections officer with the Utah Department of Corrections before joining the Utah County Sheriff’s Office in 2020, where he served as a corrections officer at the county jail.
Ryan’s commitment to his work was evident in his role as a Field Training Officer (FTO), a member of the Direct Response Team (DRT), and as a certified instructor. He had a natural talent for teaching, mentoring new officers, and positively influencing those around him. His dedication and leadership left a lasting impact on his team and the individuals he worked with.
Beyond his service, Ryan was a devoted family man. He and McKenzie, who married in August 2017, shared a deep connection, often bonded by their shared humor. Ryan adored his children, involving them in his projects and building things just for them. His family was his greatest joy, and he loved them fiercely.
Ryan is survived by his wife, McKenzie Broadhead, and their children, Liam and Sophia; his parents, Richard and Karen Broadhead; his brothers, Jacob (Emilie) Broadhead and Karsen Broadhead; his in-laws, Carrie and Jared Menlove; his siblings-in-law, Morgan (Zackry) Dickerson and Wesley Menlove; as well as his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Austin Broadhead, and several beloved family members.
On Monday, March 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., Ryan’s life will be honored and remembered at a funeral service at The Barn at Wall Brothers Orchards in Santaquin, Utah. Prior to the service, there will be a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Santaquin City Cemetery will be the last resting place for Ryan.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office sends the Broadhead family its sincerest sympathies and requests your continued prayers and support during this trying time. We will never forget Ryan Broadhead’s legacy of dedication, kindness, and service.
