SEATTLE, WA — Former Seattle Seahawk Richard Sherman took to social media Monday morning to share a terrifying experience that unfolded at his home over the weekend. Sherman revealed that his residence was broken into at gunpoint while his wife and children were inside. The terrifying break-in occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, with surveillance footage timestamped accordingly. The King County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they responded to a burglary call at around 12:05 a.m. on Sunday, though no arrests had been made as of Monday morning.

In his post, Sherman expressed gratitude that his wife was able to remain calm during the frightening ordeal, successfully keeping their children safe throughout the break-in. Sherman’s quick reaction and his wife’s poise under pressure likely helped avert further harm.
