Christopher R. Minor, Beloved Father, Marine Corps Veteran, and Boston Firefighter, Passes Away at 44 Surrounded by Family
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher R. Minor, a cherished father, beloved son, and proud Marine Corps veteran, who died peacefully surrounded by his family on April 3, 2025. He was 44 years old. Christopher, a resident of Newbury, Massachusetts, and formerly of Milton and Dorchester, was an integral part of his community, known for his dedication to his family, his profession, and his country.
Born to Patricia (Queeney) Donovan and the late Robert L. Minor, Christopher was a devoted son and a loving father to his two children, Victoria and Connor Minor. He shared a special bond with their mother, Kimberly Minor, of Lynnfield. Christopher was also the loving life partner of Mary LaBelle of Newbury, with whom he shared many years of happiness and love.
A proud and active member of the Boston Fire Department, Christopher served on Engine 17, Meetinghouse Hill. His commitment to his role as a firefighter and to his fellow first responders was unwavering. He was a dedicated and selfless individual, always ready to put others’ needs before his own. His colleagues on the force, as well as the broader firefighting community, remember him fondly for his bravery and the compassion he displayed in the line of duty.
Christopher was also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served with the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines. He was a member of Task Force Tarawa during the initial invasion of Iraq, where he courageously served his country. His military service remained an integral part of his identity, and his commitment to the values of service and sacrifice remained evident throughout his life.
In addition to his roles as a father and veteran, Christopher was a beloved brother to Kevin Minor, also a member of the Boston Fire Department serving on Engine 21 in Dorchester, and Sean Minor of Boise, ID. He was a devoted uncle to Ryan and William Minor, and a cherished nephew to John and Agnes Donovan. Christopher’s close-knit family, many of whom have been a part of his life’s journey, will miss him deeply.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Clinic of Burlington for their exceptional care and support during Christopher’s final days.
Christopher’s passing has left an indelible void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of love, service, and sacrifice will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend, colleague, and family member.
A memorial service will be held at [service details, if available]. Christopher will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his country, and his community. His spirit will live on in the lives he touched.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Donovan, his children, Victoria and Connor, his partner Mary LaBelle, his siblings, Kevin and Sean, and numerous other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. May Christopher rest in peace, knowing the profound impact he made on the lives of those around him.
