Cartersville Police Arrest Alleya Henry in Fatal Gas Station Parking Lot Shooting That Left 34-Year-Old Michael Johnson Dead; Investigation Points to Personal Dispute as Motive

 

On April 5, 2025, Cartersville Police responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a local gas station on Main Street at approximately 8:45 PM. Upon arrival, officers discovered 34-year-old Michael Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported Johnson to Cartersville Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses at the scene provided descriptions of a female suspect seen fleeing in a dark-colored sedan. Utilizing surveillance footage from the gas station and nearby businesses, investigators identified the suspect as 28-year-old Alleya Henry, a resident of Cartersville. A warrant was issued for her arrest on charges of first-degree murder.

On April 6, 2025, at approximately 2:30 AM, Cartersville Police, in coordination with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, located Henry at a residence on Pine Street. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Bartow County Jail, where she awaits her initial court appearance.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Henry and Johnson were acquainted, and the shooting may have stemmed from a personal dispute.
