BCPD Seeks Public’s Help Identifying Package Thief and Ring Camera Burglar in North Bossier: Suspect Identified as Sandra Hilton

Bossier City, LA – Authorities with the Bossier City Police Department are actively seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down a woman caught on camera stealing packages and even making off with a Ring doorbell camera from a North Bossier residence. The bold theft occurred in broad daylight and was captured in crystal-clear footage, which has since gone viral on social media — but despite the visibility, the suspect remains at large. Police have since identified the woman as 36-year-old Sandra Hilton, and they are now working diligently to locate her.

The incident took place in a quiet residential neighborhood in North Bossier earlier this week. According to police reports, the homeowner had recently received a delivery and was away at work when the theft occurred. Around mid-morning, the suspect casually approached the doorstep, walked directly up to the porch, and without hesitation, removed several packages. In a move that has left residents stunned, she then took things a step further — by detaching the home’s Ring doorbell camera before vanishing from the property.

The footage, which has since been turned over to BCPD, shows Hilton wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap, her face partially obscured. However, thanks to other surveillance angles and tips from the public, authorities were able to confirm her identity as Sandra Hilton, a woman believed to have ties to multiple petty theft and property crime cases throughout the Bossier-Shreveport area.

A Community on Edge

Residents in the neighborhood where the theft occurred are now on high alert. Many have expressed frustration and concern over what seems to be a growing trend of package thefts and petty crime targeting suburban homes.

“This woman had no fear. She walked right up to the porch, looked straight into the camera, and took what she wanted,” said the homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous. “The fact that she removed the Ring camera too just shows how bold she was. It’s unsettling.”

BCPD Spokesperson Sgt. Brian Walters echoed those concerns:
“This was not only a crime of opportunity — it was calculated. The suspect knew exactly what she was doing, and it’s evident she had no concern about being caught on camera. We’re asking the public for help in locating Sandra Hilton so that we can put an end to this pattern of behavior.”

What You Can Do

The Bossier City Police Department is urging anyone who may have seen Sandra Hilton in the area or has information on her whereabouts to come forward. Hilton is described as approximately 5’6” tall, with brown hair and a thin build. She may be traveling in a silver or white sedan and has been known to frequent neighborhoods in both Bossier City and Shreveport.

If you recognize Hilton or have any information, you’re urged to contact Bossier Crime Stoppers at 318-424-4100. Callers can remain anonymous, and a cash reward may be available for tips leading to an arrest.

In the meantime, BCPD is encouraging residents to stay vigilant, check their home security systems, and report any suspicious activity immediately. They also suggest installing tamper-proof mounts for doorbell cameras and requesting delivery services to leave packages in less visible areas when possible.

A Modern-Day Bandit

While package thefts are unfortunately not new, the growing number of cases involving individuals like Hilton — who are willing to take increasingly brazen steps, like stealing security equipment — has prompted police to enhance neighborhood patrols and public outreach.

“She’s what we call a modern-day bandit,” Sgt. Walters said. “But she won’t stay under the radar for long.”

As the investigation continues, authorities hope that increased community awareness and cooperation will lead to Sandra Hilton’s arrest — and hopefully deter others from following her example.
