Authorities Investigate Death of Man Found with Multiple Gunshot Wounds in Henry County, Virginia; Public Assistance Sought for Identity and Details of Incident

HENRY COUNTY, VA — A homicide investigation is underway in Henry County following the tragic discovery of an unidentified man’s body early Monday morning along the shoulder of Lee’s Ridge Road. Authorities confirmed the man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and as of now, his identity remains a mystery.

Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting a suspicious scene at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025. When they arrived at the scene, they found the lifeless body of an adult male lying near the roadside, in a rural stretch just outside the city limits. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate that the victim had been shot several times, although authorities have not yet released specific details regarding the number or location of wounds beyond noting “multiple gunshot wounds.” The victim’s clothing and physical description have not been publicly disclosed at this stage of the investigation, pending a formal identification and notification of next of kin.

The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Roanoke, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause and time of death, as well as potentially uncovering identifying characteristics such as tattoos, scars, or other physical markers.
