LYNCHBURG, VA – May 7, 2025 — The Lynchburg Police Department has publicly identified the victim in a fatal Tuesday night shooting as 25-year-old Zaykeese Amarius Brown, a beloved Lynchburg resident whose sudden death has shaken his community.

Officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire around 10:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Brown suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Police have launched a full-scale homicide investigation into the deadly shooting.
