Tragic Loss for the Nolan Family: Stepson of Linda Nolan, Lloyd Hudson, Passes Away After Brave Cancer Battle

The Nolan family is once again facing heartbreak after the passing of Lloyd Hudson, the beloved stepson of late singer Linda Nolan. Lloyd died following a difficult and courageous battle with cancer, just four months after Linda herself lost her long fight with the disease in January 2025.

Lloyd, the son of Linda’s late husband Brian Hudson, was diagnosed with throat cancer in September 2023. Doctors ruled out surgery due to the tumor’s proximity to his vocal cords, and he instead underwent rigorous rounds of radiotherapy. For a brief period, there was hope—scans initially suggested the cancer had been beaten. But tragically, by mid-2024, the illness returned aggressively, spreading to his lungs, brain, mouth, and liver. Doctors declared it terminal.

Throughout his battle, Lloyd leaned on his stepmother Linda for support. The two shared an incredibly close bond, particularly as they faced parallel journeys through illness. “They were both fighters,” said a family friend. “They supported each other through the darkest moments. Linda would always ask about Lloyd’s condition, even when she was in pain herself. It gave her strength to know she wasn’t alone.”

Linda Nolan, part of the famous Irish girl group The Nolans, first battled breast cancer in 2005. Though she entered remission, the cancer returned in 2017 and later spread to her liver and brain. She passed away in January 2025 due to complications from pneumonia, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and inspiration.

The Nolan family has experienced repeated tragedies caused by cancer. Linda’s sister, Bernie Nolan, died in 2013 at the age of 52 following her own battle with breast cancer. Sister Anne Nolan, who survived two bouts with the disease, is currently in remission. Earlier this year, the family also revealed that brother Brian Nolan had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, making him the fifth sibling affected.

Despite facing such devastating odds, the family has remained open about their experiences to raise awareness and offer comfort to others facing similar battles.

Lloyd’s passing is deeply felt by those who knew and loved him. Friends remember him as humble, kind-hearted, and courageous. “He never asked for sympathy,” a family member shared. “He fought for every moment and lived with dignity, just like Linda.”
