According to Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr., the fatal accident occurred around 2:36 a.m. near the Dean Road overpass. Deputies responded swiftly to the scene after receiving emergency calls about a crash involving a westbound passenger vehicle that had slammed into the bridge structure.
When first responders arrived, they discovered that Brooks had been ejected from the vehicle due to the force of the impact. Despite the prompt efforts of the Shreveport Fire Department, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
