Jim Wells County, TX — A devastating early morning crash in Jim Wells County has left a community mourning the loss of a young woman whose life was cut tragically short.

The Texas Department of Public Safety has now identified the victim of Wednesday’s fatal crash as 24-year-old Lindsey Webster, a resident of Alice, Texas. The accident occurred just after midnight, around 1:00 a.m., at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 2044 and U.S. Highway 281, just north of Alice.

According to information released by the Texas Highway Patrol, preliminary findings indicate that Webster was driving a Kia Sorento when she ran a stop sign at the intersection. As she entered the highway, her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by an oncoming truck tractor. The impact of the crash was severe, and tragically, Lindsey Webster was pronounced dead at the scene.

First responders arrived quickly after receiving emergency calls, but despite their efforts, nothing could be done to save the young woman. The driver of the truck tractor involved in the collision was not reported to have suffered serious injuries.

The Highway Patrol Office in Alice is currently leading the investigation into the fatal crash.
