Beloved Club Treasurer Jeremy Dempster Passes Away Suddenly, Leaving Behind a Legacy of Dedication, Friendship, and Unmatched Service to the Community

In a moment that has left the entire community in shock and sorrow, it is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jeremy Dempster, our long-serving club treasurer and one of the most respected and cherished members of our football club family. His death has created a void not just in our organization, but in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Jeremy Dempster was far more than a title or a role. For over a decade, he was the financial backbone and moral compass of our club. With unshakable dedication and an unwavering commitment to our mission, he steered our operations through seasons of both triumph and hardship, ensuring we always had the support and structure to thrive. His meticulous attention to detail, his honest stewardship of our resources, and his deep love for the game made him an irreplaceable figure within our ranks.

But beyond his professional responsibilities, Jeremy was a friend, a mentor, and an inspiration. He had a quiet strength about him, a calm demeanor that brought assurance in times of uncertainty. Whether he was balancing budgets, organizing fundraising drives, or simply cheering from the sidelines in the pouring rain, he embodied the spirit of community and selfless service. Many of our players, parents, and fellow volunteers will remember Jeremy as the first one to arrive and the last to leave — always working behind the scenes to make sure things ran smoothly.

What set Jeremy apart, however, was not just his dedication to the club, but his heart for people. He took genuine interest in everyone’s lives. He remembered names, celebrated milestones, and offered support when it was most needed. He never sought recognition, but those who knew him well understood just how critical his contributions were — and how deeply he cared.

Jeremy’s passing has sent ripples of grief through the entire club community. For many of us, it feels almost impossible to imagine match day, committee meetings, or club events without him there — clipboard in hand, warm smile on his face. Tributes have poured in from players past and present, fellow board members, local residents, and others who were touched by his kindness and generosity over the years.

Club President Michael Harrington offered heartfelt words, saying, “Jeremy was the heart of this club. So much of what we’ve built is thanks to his tireless work and unyielding commitment. He didn’t just serve this club — he believed in it. We owe him more than we can ever repay.”

Plans are underway to honor Jeremy’s memory in a manner befitting his legacy. A memorial service will be held at the club grounds, and the upcoming season will be dedicated to him, with a commemorative plaque and a moment of silence planned for the first home game. There is also talk of naming one of the club’s new facilities or tournaments in his honor — a lasting tribute to the man who gave so much, so quietly, and so consistently.

Jeremy is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, their two children, and countless friends and extended family members, all of whom have asked for privacy as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

In his memory, the club encourages those who were impacted by Jeremy’s generosity and warmth to carry forward his legacy — through volunteerism, community involvement, and by showing up for others the way he always did.

As we come to terms with his passing, one truth remains steadfast: Jeremy Dempster’s legacy will continue to live on in every match played, every child given a chance to shine, and every moment of joy shared on the field he helped build.

Rest in peace, Jeremy. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
