IN LOVING MEMORY: William James Thompson, 27 — A Fierce Fighter and Free Spirit Lost Too Soon, Honored With Roaring Farewell in Pennsylvania

HUNLOCK CREEK, PA — The community is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking passing of William James Thompson, 27, a vibrant soul whose strength, spirit, and love for life left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

Known for his passion for motorcycles, loud trucks, and his unwavering resilience, William overcame a major medical crisis with the support and prayers of thousands from around the world—only to be taken too soon due to what his family alleges was a tragic case of medical negligence.

William was a cherished stepson who proudly called his stepfather “Dad,” often saying he was the best father a son could ask for. “Blood doesn’t define family—love does,” said those close to him, echoing the deep bonds he built in life.

In a moving display of remembrance, the family is calling on friends, loved ones, and community members to join a celebration of life ride-out this Saturday, May 17, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Piatt Funeral Home, 6 Sunset Lake Rd, Hunlock Creek, PA 18621. Attendees are encouraged to arrive in motorcycles, lifted trucks, or any loud vehicle William would have loved—turning grief into the roar of love he lived for.

His legacy lives on not only in the lives he touched, but in the powerful reminder that community, compassion, and courage endure beyond tragedy.
