Columbia Mourns the Loss of Crystal Renee Lindler, 40, A Woman Remembered for Her Kindness, Faith, and Steadfast Love for Family
Columbia, SC — The Columbia community is coming together in sorrow and remembrance following the unexpected passing of Crystal Renee Lindler, 40, who died on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Her departure has left a quiet ache among those who knew her, but her legacy continues to shine through the lives she touched.
Born and raised in Columbia, Crystal was known not only for her bright smile and warm heart, but also for her unshakable faith and the deep, unwavering love she gave to her family and friends. Whether she was offering a word of encouragement, lending a listening ear, or simply showing up when someone needed her most, Crystal’s presence was one of strength, sincerity, and quiet grace.
She worked in administrative support and customer service throughout her career, roles that suited her perfectly—always organized, dependable, and deeply compassionate. Coworkers admired her work ethic, while clients and community members often spoke of her as someone who truly cared.
“Crystal had this beautiful way of making people feel seen,” said longtime friend and colleague Deidra Marshall. “She’d remember your name, your story, your worries. She was the calm in a lot of storms.”
More than anything, Crystal cherished her family. She is survived by her devoted parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family—all of whom were the center of her world. Affectionately known as “Auntie Crys,” she was a constant in their lives: the one who showed up to school plays, the one who made birthdays extra special, the one who prayed over them in times of uncertainty.
“She was the heartbeat of our family,” said her younger sister. “We leaned on her more than she ever let on. She never wanted recognition—she just loved us, unconditionally.”
Friends also remember Crystal as a woman of strong spiritual faith. She found comfort and strength in her beliefs and often shared words of scripture and hope with others during their most difficult times.
A visitation for Crystal will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Dunbar Funeral Home – Dutch Fork Chapel, located at 7600 Woodrow Street in Irmo, South Carolina.
It is a fitting tribute to someone who lived her life with humility, generosity, and a quiet but unwavering sense of purpose.
Though her time on this earth was far too short, the impact Crystal Renee Lindler made will endure—in the lives she lifted, in the hearts she healed, and in the family that will forever carry her love forward.
