PENSACOLA, Fla. — A deadly shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Pensacola Village apartment complex is now being investigated as a homicide after the victim succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, according to the Pensacola Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire at the residential complex shortly after noon. When they arrived on scene, they discovered an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. Authorities are withholding details surrounding the motive as the investigation remains active and ongoing.

As of Tuesday evening, the suspect remains at large. Police have not provided a description of the shooter and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Investigators are currently interviewing witnesses, gathering surveillance footage, and canvassing the area for clues.
