Ocean City Police Investigating Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Near Arctic Avenue, Seek Public’s Help to Identify Individual

 

 

 

Ocean City, MD – June 2, 2025
The Ocean City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a pedestrian involved in a hit-and-run incident that occurred shortly after midnight on June 2, 2025, near Arctic Avenue and Coastal Highway.

At approximately 12:24 a.m., officers responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. According to investigators, the pedestrian had just exited a city bus in the area when they unexpectedly ran out into the northbound lanes of Coastal Highway, where they were struck by a passing vehicle.

Remarkably, after the impact, the pedestrian quickly got up and fled the scene, disappearing into the surrounding area before emergency responders arrived. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and has fully cooperated with investigators.

Ongoing Search for Identity

Authorities have released a surveillance image of the individual and are urging the public to help identify the person. The photograph—taken moments before the collision—shows the pedestrian exiting the city bus. Police say determining who the individual is and confirming their well-being is now a top priority.

“We are very concerned about the condition of this person,” said PFC A. Calabrese, the lead investigator on the case. “It’s possible they suffered injuries from the collision and may need medical attention. We are asking for the community’s help to identify this person as quickly as possible.”
