Armed Suspect Captured After Greenwood Shooting Near Truett Avenue Leaves One Injured — Community on Edge as Victim’s Identity Withheld

GREENWOOD, S.C. — June 3, 2025 — A tense and rapidly evolving situation unfolded Tuesday afternoon in Greenwood, South Carolina, after a shooting was reported near Truett Avenue, triggering an immediate and large-scale law enforcement response and a warning to residents in the area.

The Greenwood Police Department confirmed that officers were dispatched around 3:45 p.m. following multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in a residential neighborhood off Truett Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders located a single victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim, whose identity and current condition have not yet been disclosed, was rushed to a nearby hospital by EMS personnel.
