Heartbreak in Chesapeake: Norfolk Woman Killed in DUI Crash, Driver Identified as Travis Vaughn Bulloch
CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A tragic crash late Tuesday night has left a Norfolk family in mourning and a community demanding accountability, after 46-year-old Ali Renee Harrison was killed in a violent collision at a busy Chesapeake intersection. The alleged driver responsible, 38-year-old Travis Vaughn Bulloch, now faces DUI-related charges as the investigation into the fatal incident continues.
At approximately 9:51 p.m. on June 10, 2025, Chesapeake Police responded to a devastating motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Battlefield Boulevard and Volvo Parkway. What unfolded was a sequence of poor decisions and tragic timing that ultimately cost an innocent woman her life.
According to police, Bulloch was operating a Pontiac SUV traveling southbound on North Battlefield Boulevard in the left turn lane. As he attempted to perform a U-turn to head back northbound — against the flow of oncoming traffic — his vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a Jeep SUV traveling northbound in the through lane.
Ali Renee Harrison, a rear-seat passenger in the Pontiac, suffered critical injuries as a result of the impact. She was transported to a local hospital where, despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead.
The sudden and heartbreaking loss of Harrison, who was described by loved ones as “kind, vibrant, and full of life,” has sent ripples of grief across the Norfolk and Chesapeake communities.
Police have confirmed that the driver of the Pontiac, Travis Vaughn Bulloch of Chesapeake, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with two DUI-related offenses. Investigators noted that additional charges are pending as evidence continues to be processed.
“The choices made that night had irreversible consequences,” a spokesperson for the Chesapeake Police Department said in a statement Wednesday morning. “This tragic loss was entirely preventable.”
The driver and occupants of the Jeep SUV involved in the crash were also evaluated at the scene. No life-threatening injuries were reported for those individuals.
Traffic at the intersection was shut down for hours overnight as accident reconstruction teams worked to piece together the events leading to the fatal collision. Police are reviewing surveillance video, witness statements, and forensic evidence as part of the ongoing probe.
Ali Renee Harrison’s death marks yet another life stolen by impaired driving, a problem authorities continue to battle across the state. Advocacy groups are already calling for stronger enforcement and community awareness in light of the tragedy.
Harrison leaves behind a grieving family and a legacy of compassion. Loved ones have flooded social media with memories, photos, and heartfelt tributes, remembering her as a selfless soul whose life was cut far too short.
