Community Mourns the Loss of Addie Mae Robbins, Beloved Granddaughter of Martha and Bill Watson, After Tragic Car Accident

 

 

 

New Albany, MS — The community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Addilynn Mae Robbins, affectionately known as Addie Mae, granddaughter of longtime waitress Martha Watson and her husband Bill. Addie Mae passed away tragically on June 15, 2025, at the age of 12, following a devastating car accident that has left her family, friends, and neighbors deeply shaken.

Born on March 27, 2013, in New Albany, Mississippi, Addie Mae was the first child of Colten and Casey Henson Robbins of Pontotoc. A soon-to-be seventh grader at North Pontotoc School, Addie Mae was known for her bright spirit, infectious smile, and kind heart.

Addie Mae was an active member of Buchanan Baptist Church, where she found comfort and strength in her faith. At the age of eight, she accepted Christ into her heart and was passionate about sharing her love for Jesus with others. Her family recalls finding a handwritten note from Addie Mae that read, “He is coming back!”—a testament to her hopeful and faithful spirit.

Beyond her faith, Addie Mae was a vibrant and spirited young girl who balanced her love of makeup, pageants, and fashion with a fearless and lively personality. She delighted in practicing makeup techniques on her siblings and loved participating in tumbling, cheering, and volleyball as a member of Olympus Athletics. She was also an avid fisher, often surprising those around her with her skill.

Addie Mae’s warmth extended beyond her family to friends and community members, where she was known for her kindness and generosity. She held a special bond with her Mamaw and Papaw Robbins and was deeply affected by the recent loss of her Papaw Herman, showing her tender heart and capacity to love deeply.

Her sudden passing has left a profound void for her family, including her parents Casey and Colten, her siblings Henley and Bryson, grandparents Martha and Bill Watson, Greg and Pam Robbins, John and Penny Henson, and a large extended family who adored her.

Funeral services to honor Addie Mae’s life will take place at 2 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Buchanan Baptist Church in Pontotoc, with visitation scheduled the evening before from 5 PM to 8 PM, and again on the day of the service from noon until time of service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The community is invited to come together to celebrate Addie Mae’s life and offer support to the Watson and Robbins families during this devastating time. Pallbearers include Kyle and Austin Robbins, Austin Henson, James Wray, Chaz Carrillo, and Patrick Ferguson, with honorary pallbearers Bryson and Case Robbins, Cayson Jensen, and Caden and Jaxton Smith.

Martha Watson, a beloved waitress known for her kindness and radiant smile, and her husband Bill, are surrounded by love and prayers from friends, coworkers, and community members as they face this unimaginable loss.

In this time of sorrow, the family asks for continued prayers and support as they navigate the difficult journey of healing. Addie Mae’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her—a shining light remembered for her faith, spirit, and boundless love.
