Logan Softball Teammate Kristi Successfully Undergoes Surgery After Severe Car Accident, Community Rallies in Support

 

 

LOGAN, WV — June 27, 2025 — Relief and hope are filling the hearts of the Logan community and the Coalfield Fury 14U travel softball team as Kristi, a cherished teammate, has successfully undergone surgery following a devastating car accident. The young athlete is now in stable condition and beginning her recovery under the care of a specialized medical team in Columbus.

Kristi was rushed to surgery after sustaining extensive facial injuries in the crash. Prior to the operation, she was stable and able to communicate with loved ones, giving her family and teammates a hopeful sign amid a difficult ordeal. Medical professionals cleared her for surgery following neurological assessments, and officials have confirmed the procedure went well.

More than a teammate, Kristi is considered family by the Coalfield Fury team, which has been united in prayer and support since the accident occurred. The team’s heartfelt message underscored the close bonds they share:
