FAYETTEVILLE, NC — June 28, 2025 — A devastating update has emerged following the tragic two-vehicle crash on Cedar Creek Road that shook the Fayetteville community. Marcia Adair Davis, daughter of beloved gospel artist Russ Adair, has passed away from her injuries after fighting for her life in the hospital.

The fatal collision, which occurred on Saturday afternoon, involved a champagne-colored Dodge Charger that lost control while traveling inbound on Cedar Creek Road. The vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a black Honda headed outbound. The violent impact resulted in the deaths of two individuals at the scene, while Marcia and one other passenger were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Despite undergoing emergency surgery and receiving intensive care, doctors confirmed that Marcia Adair Davis could not survive the extensive internal injuries sustained in the crash. She passed away later that night, surrounded by family and under the care of a dedicated medical team.

“Marcia was my joy, my light, and a servant of the Lord who touched lives with her heart and faith,” said her father, Russ Adair, in a heartfelt statement. “Though I’m broken, I trust she is now at peace in the presence of the Savior she so dearly loved.”

Fayetteville police are continuing their investigation into the crash. No charges have been filed as of now, but authorities are reviewing all circumstances surrounding the accident.
