Tragedy Strikes Racine: Asia Rayne Killed in Late-Night Shooting at 1 Washington Avenue
RACINE, WI — The city of Racine is grappling with another senseless act of violence following a fatal shooting late on the night of July 14, 2025, at 1 Washington Avenue. Authorities from the Racine Fire and Police Departments responded to a distress call around 11:30 p.m., where they discovered a woman, later identified as Asia Rayne, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical efforts, Rayne was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots before the police arrived. Investigators are canvassing the neighborhood for surveillance footage and speaking with residents to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy.
