Gunfire Rocks Brunswick Neighborhood: Armed Suspects Fire Into Home with Children Inside

BRUNSWICK, GA — July 23, 2025 — Late Tuesday night, residents in the 2200 block of Wolfe Street were terrorized when gunshots rang out, striking a home where two young children were inside. The violent incident, sparked by a dispute over a pool of water, left the community shaken but, thankfully, with no injuries reported.

Eyewitnesses told authorities that two armed men opened fire on the residence, while a female accomplice was seen collecting spent bullet casings moments after the shooting. The reckless attack sent shockwaves through the neighborhood and has raised serious concerns about ongoing violence in the area.

Suspect Identified Amid Troubling History

Authorities have identified one of the suspects as Roger Owens, a man already known to law enforcement for his alleged involvement in a triple homicide on Wolfe Street. Owens was previously arrested but later released from the Glynn County Detention Center. His return to violent behavior has alarmed both police and community members alike.

Law enforcement officials warn that Owens is armed and dangerous and currently believed to be at large, potentially having fled to Jacksonville. He is reportedly driving a tan Chevy Tahoe with a damaged front bumper.

“Mr. Owens’ repeated disregard for public safety and his brazen actions in a residential area, especially with children present, are unacceptable,” said a spokesperson for the Brunswick Police Department. “We urge anyone with information or footage to come forward immediately.”

Community Outraged, Demanding Justice

Neighbors expressed fear and frustration following the incident, calling for swift action to remove dangerous individuals from their streets.

“It’s terrifying that someone would shoot into a home with kids inside,” said one resident. “We need protection and answers — and we want Owens gone for good.”

Residents have also called on the community to remain vigilant, sharing descriptions and urging neighbors to check security footage from doorbell cameras and surveillance systems.

Investigation Underway; Public Assistance Needed

The Brunswick Police Department continues its investigation and is actively seeking tips, video evidence, and any eyewitness accounts that can help identify all suspects involved.

The department reminds the public that Owens is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
