FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA — August 4, 2025 — Authorities have launched an intensive manhunt for Tyrque Jones, 22, who is wanted in connection with a deadly triple shooting that took place early Sunday morning outside a popular nightclub in Fargo. The violent incident left one person dead and two others seriously wounded, sparking fear and urgency across the community.
Chaos Outside the Club
The shooting occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. on August 3, in the parking lot of the Midnight Lounge, located along Main Avenue in downtown Fargo. According to the Fargo Police Department, an altercation broke out just as patrons were leaving the venue. Within seconds, gunfire erupted — sending clubgoers scrambling for cover and leaving multiple people injured.
When officers arrived on scene, they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of them, a 24-year-old man whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims, a 21-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, were transported to a nearby hospital and remain in serious but stable condition.
Suspect Identified: Tyrque Jones
Through surveillance footage and witness statements, investigators quickly identified Tyrque Jones as the suspected shooter. Jones is believed to have fled the scene on foot, possibly aided by another individual. He remains at large as of Monday morning.
The Fargo Police Department, along with local, state, and federal partners, has issued an active arrest warrant for Jones on charges of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
“This is a dangerous individual who must be brought into custody,” said Fargo Police Chief Shannon McBride. “We are asking the public for assistance while strongly warning everyone: Do not approach Tyrque Jones. If you see him or know his whereabouts, contact 911 immediately.”
Public Safety Alert Issued
Authorities have issued a citywide alert and expanded their search to nearby counties and across state lines. Jones is considered armed and extremely dangerous. He is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a medium build, black hair, and several visible tattoos, including one on his neck that reads “Loyalty.”
The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service are assisting in the search and have joined in monitoring transportation hubs and digital communication channels in the region. Police have increased patrols in high-traffic areas and locations where Jones is known to have contacts.
Community on Edge
The brazen nature of the shooting — which took place in a public setting with dozens of witnesses — has left residents shaken. Clubgoers who were present that night have shared harrowing accounts of panic, chaos, and disbelief.
“We were just getting ready to leave and then I heard loud pops,” said one eyewitness, who asked not to be named. “Everyone was running. I saw people crying, ducking behind cars. It was terrifying.”
In response, Midnight Lounge has temporarily suspended operations and issued a statement expressing condolences to the victims and vowing full cooperation with law enforcement.
Call for Public Assistance
Investigators are asking anyone with video, photos, or firsthand accounts of the incident to come forward. They also urge people who may have seen Tyrque Jones in the hours or days following the shooting to report it anonymously if necessary.

“This violence has to end,” said Pastor Raymond Lewis, a local advocate for youth intervention. “We are seeing too many young lives ruined by senseless acts. Our community must come together and support justice, healing, and safety.”
