RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond Police are investigating a triple shooting Saturday evening that left two men and one woman injured in the city’s Southside, adding to what has become a violent day across the city.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Hull Street and East 11th Street, where officers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Victims Rushed to Hospital
Authorities confirmed that two males and one female were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed.
Hull Street Road was shut down in both directions for several hours as police secured the scene, redirected traffic, and allowed investigators to collect evidence.
Another Shooting Hours Earlier
This latest incident comes just hours after a quadruple shooting earlier in the day that left four people injured in another Richmond neighborhood. With Saturday’s triple shooting, the city has now recorded seven people shot within a single day — a troubling spike in violence that has shaken residents and city officials alike.
Police Investigation
Detectives and crime scene investigators remained at the Hull Street location into the night, searching for shell casings, reviewing surveillance cameras, and speaking with potential witnesses.
At this time, authorities have not released any details about a suspect or possible motive. Investigators have not confirmed whether this shooting is related to the earlier incident.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area of Hull Street and East 11th Street to contact them immediately.
Community Response
Residents expressed fear and frustration at the wave of violence in Richmond. Several community leaders have called for renewed efforts to curb gun violence, stressing the need for both enforcement and prevention.
“This is heartbreaking — seven people shot in our city in one day,” one resident said. “We need answers, and we need to feel safe again.”
Call for Information
The Richmond Police Department is asking anyone with information about this shooting to come forward. Tipsters can contact Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. All callers remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
A City on Edge
With seven victims in less than 24 hours, Richmond faces one of its most violent weekends in recent months. Police say they are increasing patrols in high-crime areas and working around the clock to prevent further incidents.
City officials are expected to address the public in the coming days as residents demand both justice and safety following this surge in gun violence.
