ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) is grieving the loss of Corporal Andrew Mulally, a dedicated deputy who passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. A 12-year veteran of the agency, Mulally was remembered for his unwavering commitment to public service and his profound impact on both his colleagues and the citizens he served.
Corporal Mulally devoted more than a decade to protecting St. Johns County, where he became known for his drive, professionalism, and compassion. His service spanned numerous roles, but his focus remained the same: keeping his community safe and fostering trust between law enforcement and residents.
“Andrew represented the very best of us,” Sheriff Robert Hardwick said in a statement. “He was not only a dedicated law enforcement officer but also a beloved husband, father, and friend. His loss is devastating to our agency and to the community he served so faithfully.”
Mulally leaves behind his wife and two young children, who are now facing an unimaginable loss. The Sheriff’s Office said it will stand beside the family in the days ahead, pledging both emotional and financial support. Counseling and peer services have also been made available for deputies as they process the death of their colleague.
Tributes have poured in from across the county, with fellow officers and community members recalling Mulally as a man of integrity and kindness who always went above and beyond. “Andrew wasn’t just a coworker — he was family,” one deputy shared. “He had a way of making you feel supported, no matter the situation.”
Plans for a memorial service and funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon. In the meantime, the Sheriff’s Office has asked the public to keep the Mulally family in their thoughts and prayers.
As St. Johns County mourns, officials emphasized that Corporal Mulally’s legacy of service and sacrifice will not be forgotten. “We lost more than an officer,” Sheriff Hardwick added. “We lost a man who embodied honor, compassion, and a relentless devotion to others.”
