It is with deep sorrow that the Adrian College community and the broader hockey world share the passing of Chris Stansik, a beloved former Bulldog whose contributions to the program and to those around him left an enduring legacy.
Stansik, a 2012 graduate of Adrian College, etched his name into Bulldog history both on and off the ice. A gifted defenseman, he was a two-time All-American and a four-time All-Conference selection, achievements that reflected not only his talent but also his relentless work ethic and leadership.
In 2024, Stansik’s impact was formally recognized when he was inducted into the Adrian College Athletic Hall of Fame, a testament to the profound mark he left on the program.
His name is forever tied to a historic moment in Bulldog hockey. On October 15, 2007, during a 9–2 win over SUNY Potsdam, Stansik scored the first goal in program history—a milestone that remains one of the most cherished memories in Adrian hockey lore. Over the course of his career, he tallied 135 points in 113 games, numbers that speak to both his consistency and his brilliance on the ice. During his senior season in 2011–12, he proudly served as Co-Captain, leading by example and inspiring younger teammates.
Beyond the statistics and accolades, those who knew Chris remember his heart, humility, and unwavering dedication to his team, his college, and his family. His passing is not only a loss to the Adrian hockey family but also to everyone whose lives he touched with his kindness and spirit.
