MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. —  The community of Mount Holly is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Andre Ross, a 25-year-old father, brother, and son who was tragically shot and killed Monday evening at Mill Dam Park in Burlington County.

According to officials, police were called to the park near Wall and Pine Streets around 5:45 p.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they discovered Ross had been shot. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.

A Loving Father and Family Man

Ross’s family described him as a humble, loving young man whose greatest joy in life was being a father. His daughter was the center of his world, and relatives said fatherhood had transformed him, bringing out his maturity and deep sense of responsibility.

Ross also had a passion for rap music, which he pursued with energy and creativity. His family recalled his adventurous spirit, noting that he poured himself into his art and his role as a father.

Family in Shock and Sorrow

The pain of this sudden loss has left his loved ones reeling.

“I’m still in disbelief, it finally hit me this morning really bad, and I just can’t believe I’m here,” said Shanika Ross, Andre’s aunt.

His sister, Latisha Cosom, described her brother as her protector. “He protected all of us. I’m the oldest, and he’s the second oldest, and I’m just heartbroken. I feel like I really can’t believe it until I actually see his body.”

Investigation Ongoing

The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation and has not yet released details about a suspect or motive. Authorities continue to search for the individual responsible.

Investigators are urging the public to come forward with any information, photos, or video that may help in solving this case.

A Community in Mourning

Ross’s tragic death has cast a shadow of grief over Mount Holly. Family and friends are now planning ways to honor his memory and ensure his daughter grows up knowing how deeply her father was loved.
