WEST VIEW, Pa. — September 25, 2025 — The West View and North Hills communities are grappling with the heartbreaking loss of Addie Maiette, a recent graduate of North Hills High School, who tragically died in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 6 a.m. at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Cornell Avenue, near the border of Ross Township and West View. According to local authorities, three vehicles were stopped in the left-hand lane of Highland Avenue when the third vehicle in line attempted to pass the cars ahead by entering the oncoming traffic lane. At the same time, officials say the first vehicle in the line attempted a left turn onto Cornell Avenue, resulting in a collision that involved all three vehicles.
Officials reported that the damage to the vehicles was so extensive that investigators could not immediately determine which vehicle was attempting to pass and which was turning. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information regarding the crash and ask that tips be directed to the County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
