McDonald County, MO — A tragic crash south of Stella on Highways 76 and JJ has left the McDonald County community in mourning after a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed the incident as Troop D’s 102nd traffic-related fatality for 2025.

Authorities report that a 2022 Ram 1500, driven by a 33-year-old woman from Bradley, Arkansas, was attempting a left turn when it entered the path of a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 54-year-old Adam Collier of Anderson, Missouri. The motorcycle struck the truck, and despite the swift response from emergency personnel, Collier, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at 7:47 p.m. at the scene by Dr. Matthew Grounds of Freeman Hospital.

Emergency Response

The scene was attended by Trooper E. LeBlanc and Crash Team Member Master Sergeant M. Eden, with support from Stella Fire Department, McDonald County Sheriff’s Office, and Freeman Ambulance. The Missouri State Highway Patrol led the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Both vehicles were severely damaged and subsequently towed from the scene.

Preliminary reports indicate that the truck’s left-turn maneuver directly caused the collision.
