It is with deep sadness that the Monroe community mourns the loss of Cloe I. Klatt, a 27-year-old resident of Monroe, Michigan, who tragically died in a traffic crash at the intersection of N. Monroe Street and Mall Road in Frenchtown Township on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Incident Overview

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred at approximately 2:27 p.m., involving a black 2025 Ford Expedition operated by 51-year-old Emily A. Adams of Monroe and a black 2020 Ford Fusion operated by Cloe I. Klatt. Preliminary investigation indicates that Ms. Adams was traveling southbound on N. Monroe Street in the left lane when she entered the intersection of Mall Road and collided with Ms. Klatt’s vehicle, which was making a left turn onto westbound Mall Road from the northbound left turn lane.

The impact caused the Ford Expedition to come to rest facing northbound in the southbound right lane, while the Ford Fusion came to rest facing southeast on the southbound shoulder of the roadway. Multiple airbags deployed in both vehicles as a result of the collision.

Victim Details and Condition

Tragically, Cloe I. Klatt was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was not wearing her safety belt at the time of the crash. Emergency responders transported Emily A. Adams to Corewell Health Trenton Hospital in Trenton, Michigan, where she is listed in stable condition. Ms. Adams was wearing her seatbelt during the incident.
