COLUMBUS, GA — The city of Columbus is mourning the loss of 30-year-old Demetrius Wilkerson, whose life was tragically cut short early Saturday morning outside the Azalea Apartments on Boxwood Boulevard.
According to the Columbus Police Department, officers were called to the 1400 block of Boxwood Blvd following reports of an incident in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered Wilkerson critically injured. Despite immediate medical response and lifesaving efforts, he sadly passed away at the hospital shortly after.
Authorities have identified a person of interest, 32-year-old Donald Fair, in connection with the ongoing investigation. Law enforcement continues to work diligently to locate and speak with him as part of their efforts to bring clarity and justice to this heartbreaking case.
