OLDBURY, SANDELL, UK — The community of Oldbury is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 19-year-old Lily Whitehouse, whose life was tragically cut short on November 5, 2025.

According to West Midlands Police, officers were called to a residence in Oldbury following reports of a serious assault. Despite the swift response of emergency services, Lily was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have charged 41-year-old Mohammed Azim, from Handsworth, with murder in connection with her death. He appeared before magistrates earlier this week and has been remanded in custody pending further court proceedings.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police shared,

“Our thoughts are with Lily’s family and loved ones as they face this devastating loss. We continue to support them through this difficult time while our investigation remains ongoing.”

Friends and relatives have described Lily as a bright, kind, and loving young woman whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone around her. A candlelight vigil is being planned in her memory as the community comes together to honor her life and offer prayers for her family.

Authorities have urged the public to avoid speculation or sharing misinformation online while the case moves through the judicial process.

Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact West Midlands Police on 101, or reach out anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
