Violent Domestic Disturbance in Kingsbury, Texas Ends with Two Arrests, One Woman Hospitalized

KINGSBURY, Texas — A quiet night in the small rural community of Kingsbury turned into a scene of chaos late Monday when a domestic violence incident escalated, prompting a multi-agency law enforcement response. The confrontation left one woman hospitalized and two men — including a suspect with a history of domestic abuse — behind bars.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies responded to a residence around 10:45 p.m. on Monday, June 23, after receiving a 911 call reporting a violent disturbance inside the home. What they encountered was a volatile situation that quickly required backup from nearby agencies, including the Seguin Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.

At the center of the incident was Paul Aguilar, a man already wanted for Family Violence Assault in an unrelated case. Deputies confirmed he was taken into custody without further resistance and was subsequently charged not only for the active warrant but also for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member stemming from the violent altercation that unfolded that night.

Authorities say Aguilar physically assaulted a woman during the dispute. The victim — whose identity is being withheld for her safety — sustained visible injuries and was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment. Her current condition has not been publicly disclosed, but law enforcement officials described her injuries as “significant.”

A second man, whose name has not been released, was also arrested at the scene for allegedly interfering with officers during the response. Authorities say he attempted to obstruct deputies from entering the residence and hindered their efforts to deescalate the situation and help the injured victim. Charges are pending.

“This was a dangerous and emotionally charged situation that could have ended much worse,” said a spokesperson for the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office. “Thanks to the swift cooperation of multiple responding agencies, we were able to secure the scene, protect the victim, and take both suspects into custody safely.”

Neighbors described hearing yelling and seeing a heavy law enforcement presence in the area, with multiple patrol vehicles lining the normally quiet rural road. One resident said, “It was surreal — blue lights everywhere. You don’t expect something like this to happen out here.”

Aguilar is currently being held in the Guadalupe County Jail, where he faces multiple charges. His bond has not yet been set. Investigators say additional charges could be filed pending the outcome of interviews, forensic evidence collection, and witness statements.

Officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and encouraged anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward.

This case adds to the growing concerns over domestic violence in rural areas, where access to services and shelters can be more limited than in larger cities. Advocates are urging community members to remain vigilant and to report any signs of abuse.
