Bradley Wilson Arrested After Twice Attempting to Kidnap 8-Year-Old Girl at Jefferson County Safeway
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A terrifying incident unfolded at a Jefferson County grocery store on June 21 when a 34-year-old man was arrested for twice attempting to abduct an 8-year-old girl, authorities confirmed.
Bradley Wilson, a stranger to the child and her family, approached the girl while she was shopping with her grandmother in the produce section of the Safeway store on South Kipling Parkway. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), Wilson put his hands on the young girl’s shoulders and allegedly asked, “May I borrow your child?”
The grandmother quickly reacted, yelling at Wilson to stop. This alarmed the child, who managed to break free and run back to her grandmother’s side.
However, Wilson’s disturbing behavior did not end there. Deputies said he exited the store but returned shortly afterward, attempting to abduct the girl again. Fortunately, vigilant Safeway staff intervened by yelling at Wilson, forcing him to flee the scene in a vehicle.
Law enforcement responded swiftly after receiving the report. Deputies tracked down and apprehended Wilson, who is now being held in the Jefferson County Jail. He faces charges of second-degree kidnapping of a minor.
Authorities confirmed that the young girl and her grandmother were physically unharmed, though understandably shaken by the frightening encounter.
This incident has left the community deeply concerned, highlighting the need for constant vigilance when children are in public spaces. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office urges parents and guardians to remain alert and encourages community members to report any suspicious behavior immediately.
Wilson remains in custody as the investigation continues. Officials are working to ensure the safety of local residents and prevent any similar incidents.
