Birmingham, AL — With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, the family, friends, and loved ones of Chaundra Sharmane Jefferson announce her passing on July 6, 2025, at the age of 32. Chaundra was more than just a daughter, wife, sister, and friend—she was a bright light, a source of laughter, a woman of deep faith, and a dreamer who left a powerful mark on everyone who knew her.
Born on February 14, 1993, in Birmingham, Alabama, Chaundra was a Valentine’s baby whose warmth and radiance were felt from the very beginning. She was the beloved daughter of Ms. Rhonda Maria Jefferson and Mr. Clifford Holmes, Jr., and her early years were filled with joy, kindness, and an infectious sense of humor. Chaundra was known for always having a joke ready, a helping hand to offer, and a fierce loyalty to those she held dear.
A Faithful Journey
Chaundra’s spiritual journey began early, as she accepted Jesus Christ into her heart and attended First Baptist Kingston with her grandmother, the late Queenie “Shengi” Jefferson, under the leadership of Reverend Miller. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life. She later worshiped with Faith Empowerment Church, led by Pastors Ronnie and Janie Pilgrom, and ultimately became a proud member of Rebirth Christian Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastors Doug and Shay Taylor.
