St. Joseph, MO — A tragic overnight collision involving multiple motorcycles has left one man dead and another injured, prompting an urgent investigation by the St. Joseph Police Department. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, July 30, 2025, near North Belt Highway and Blackwell Road, an area known for its frequent traffic flow.

At approximately 1:57 a.m., officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a serious crash involving motorcycles. Upon arrival, police located two riders who had been involved in the collision. One individual sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The second motorcyclist, identified as Tristian Plumley, 23, of St. Joseph, was found unresponsive at the scene. Buchanan County EMS rushed him to Mosaic Life Care, where he was later pronounced dead.

Third Motorcycle Possibly Involved

According to early witness accounts and evidence at the scene, authorities believe a third motorcycle may have been involved in the crash. That rider is suspected to have fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators have released a photo in hopes of identifying the third individual and are asking for the public’s assistance.
