In Loving Memory of Michael Patrick McCarthy, 25
ORLAND PARK, IL — With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, the family of Michael Patrick McCarthy announces his passing at the young age of 25. Michael was a loving son, loyal brother, treasured uncle, devoted friend, and proud crane operator with Teamsters Local 710. His loss has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Born on August 12, 1999, Michael was the youngest of the five McCarthy children. He brought a unique charm to his family, standing out with his striking red hair and quiet, calm demeanor. Michael was the son of John “Jack” McCarthy (Retired EPPD) and Catherine (nee Jackson) McCarthy, who raised him in a home filled with faith, love, and strong values.
A Gentle Soul with a Fierce Loyalty
Michael is survived by his siblings: Kevin McCarthy (MPD) and wife Danielle, Meghan McCarthy, Timothy McCarthy, and Ryan McCarthy (CPD). He was a cherished uncle to Warren McCarthy, and a beloved companion to his loyal German Shepherd, Schatzi. Michael was also a treasured nephew, cousin, and friend whose impact was felt deeply by everyone in his circle.
He had an incredible gift for making those around him feel seen and appreciated. Known for his sharp, quiet wit, Michael would drop the perfect one-liner at just the right moment, sparking laughter in any room. Despite his calm nature, he was an undeniable presence—steady, loyal, and full of heart.
Family, Friendship, and Blackhawks
Michael found joy in the simple things: spending time with family and friends, playing video games, and cheering on his beloved Chicago Blackhawks, even during the toughest seasons. He had a special bond with animals and was adored by the many pets that shared the McCarthy home. That connection extended to any animal he encountered—a reflection of his deep compassion and gentleness.
As a crane operator with Teamsters Local 710, Michael brought professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic to every job. His dedication to his craft and his team was unwavering, and his coworkers remember him as someone they could always count on.
