Washington County, Pa. — Authorities have charged 18-year-old Christopher Harper of Bentleyville with criminal homicide following a deadly late-night shooting that claimed the life of 21-year-old Elijah Johnson of Carnegie inside a Washington County residence.
According to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office, the incident occurred late Saturday night when police responded to reports of shots fired at a home in the county. Upon arrival, officers discovered Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators quickly identified Harper as the suspected shooter. Officials say the two men were inside the home when an altercation escalated into violence. The exact circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation, but authorities confirmed Harper was taken into custody without incident early Sunday morning.

Harper is facing charges of criminal homicide and related offenses. He is currently being held in the Washington County Jail pending his preliminary hearing. Prosecutors indicated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation develops.
District Attorney Jason Walsh said in a statement:
