CARROLL COUNTY, Ga.  — The Carroll County community is reeling after a tragic night on State Route 113, where two serious collisions occurred within hours, leaving one teenager dead and three children injured. Authorities have confirmed the identity of the deceased as 19-year-old Ethan Saravanja.

Fatal Collision on Hog Liver Road

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the first crash happened around 8:43 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of State Route 113 and Hog Liver Road. Saravanja, driving a Honda Civic, attempted to cross the highway toward Old Muse Road but failed to yield to a southbound Dodge Ram truck, colliding violently with the vehicle’s front end.

Emergency responders arrived promptly, but Saravanja was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the Dodge Ram sustained injuries and was transported to Tanner Carrollton Medical Center for treatment.

The sudden death of Saravanja has sent shockwaves through his family, friends, and the wider community. Those who knew him describe a young man full of potential whose life was tragically cut short.

Separate Crash on Lakeview Way Injures Children

Minutes later, troopers responded to a second crash on State Route 113 near Lakeview Way, involving a Toyota Camry and a Hyundai Elantra. The Elantra crossed the centerline while attempting a left turn, striking the Camry head-on.

The impact left multiple victims:

  • The Toyota driver was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
  • Three children, aged 13, 8, and 7, were transported to Arthur M. Blank Children’s Hospital, with the 8-year-old airlifted by Life Flight due to serious injuries.
  • The Hyundai driver was transported to Floyd Medical Center.

Traffic on State Route 113 was disrupted for approximately two hours as law enforcement secured the scenes and investigated the circumstances.

Investigation and Community Response

The Georgia State Patrol confirmed both incidents are under active investigation. Authorities are reviewing vehicle movements, intersection conditions, and other factors to determine what led to these devastating crashes.

Local residents expressed alarm over the tragedies, highlighting concerns about road safety along Highway 113. Community members are rallying to support the families affected, particularly the children recovering from their injuries.
