It is a profound sorrow to share the passing of Brittany Dawn Clayton, a radiant soul whose life touched so many hearts. Born at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Brittany lived 35 years filled with laughter, love, and a remarkable commitment to helping others. She departed this life on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, leaving behind memories that will forever live in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.

A Bright Spirit from the Start

From the moment she entered this world, Brittany brought joy and light to those around her. She grew up in Barrie surrounded by love, and over the years her bright smile and warm presence became a source of comfort for many. Her laughter, the kind that could fill a room, is something her loved ones will miss deeply.

Education and Calling

Brittany pursued her education with great passion, attending Everest College, George Brown College, and Toronto Metropolitan University, where she ultimately earned her Master’s in Social Work. Her studies reflected her heart’s desire: to serve others, especially those walking through their most difficult struggles.

A Career of Compassion

Brittany’s career in social work and addiction support was not just a profession — it was a calling. She truly loved the people she worked with, always giving her time, encouragement, and compassion freely. She was known for being a light in the darkest of moments, lifting others up with kindness and empathy.

Every client and colleague she met felt her genuine care. She believed in second chances, in healing, and in love that extends beyond circumstances. Her legacy in this field will continue to inspire many for years to come.

A Journey of Strength and Resilience

At the time of her passing, Brittany was celebrating five months of sobriety, courageously moving toward her six-month milestone. She was immensely proud of her progress, and her family shared how determined she was to rebuild her life.

She had found her independence in a new home, adopted her beloved cat Sven, and dedicated herself to her role as an overnight caseworker, tirelessly helping others even as she walked her own path of healing.

Her resilience and honesty about her journey gave hope to many who struggle — a true testament to her strength and courage.

Family, Forever in Her Heart

Brittany was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend — roles she cherished with all her heart.

She leaves behind her mother, Cindy Clayton, her father, Ronald Clayton, her brother, Shawn Clayton (Candice), and her sister, Candace (Mike).

Her love extended deeply to her nephews: Brandon Clayton and Gavin Keller, and her nieces: Dakota Hill, Brianna Clayton, Allie Asaph, Grace Clayton, Makayla Asaph, Shaylynn Clayton, Presley Clayton, and Makayla Keller.

She will also be remembered by her great-niece and nephews — Maguire, Sullivan, and Nelson Hill — and by the many friends who were blessed to know her.
