PHILADELPHIA, PA — The city of Philadelphia is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kada Scott, a 24-year-old woman whose life was tragically cut short after she went missing earlier this month and was later found in East Germantown.

Kada was more than just a name in the headlines — she was a daughter, friend, and caregiver whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, she had recently begun working the overnight shift at a Chestnut Hill nursing home, dedicating her life to caring for others. Her coworkers remember her as gentle, dependable, and full of compassion — someone who went out of her way to make patients and colleagues feel seen and valued.

Born and raised in the Ivy Hill section of Mt. Airy, Kada was known for her infectious smile and unwavering determination. She dreamed of building a long career in healthcare and one day opening her own wellness center to serve underprivileged families. Those close to her describe her as ambitious, kindhearted, and deeply devoted to her loved ones.

Her sudden disappearance on October 4, 2025, sent shockwaves through the community and sparked a massive two-week search effort that united neighbors, volunteers, and law enforcement. Sadly, that search came to an end when police discovered her body in East Germantown. Authorities have since charged a suspect in her death, bringing some measure of justice to her grieving family.

Though her time on earth was far too short, Kada’s legacy lives on — in the patients she cared for, the friendships she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely. She was a young woman with a bright future, full of potential and purpose, whose gentle nature left an everlasting mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

As Philadelphia mourns her loss, friends and family are remembering Kada not for the tragedy that took her, but for the light she brought into the world. A candlelight vigil is being planned in her honor, where loved ones will gather to celebrate her life, share stories, and keep her memory alive.

Her family asks that Kada be remembered for her compassion, her laughter, and the way she made others feel cared for. In their words:

“Kada was love — pure, genuine love. Her heart was too big for this world, and though she’s gone, her light will never fade.”

🕊️ In Loving Memory of Kada Scott
May you rest in peace, surrounded by the love you gave so freely. Your spirit will forever shine in the hearts of those you leave behind.
