OXON HILL, Md. — The Alexandria community is grieving the tragic loss of Percell Jerome Veney Jr., 57, of Alexandria, Va., who died early Sunday morning following a two-vehicle collision in Oxon Hill. Family, friends, and neighbors are struggling to come to terms with the sudden passing of a beloved husband, father, and friend.

The fatal crash occurred on October 26, 2025, at approximately 12:55 a.m. in the 6300 block of Oxon Hill Road. According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, preliminary investigations indicate that Veney was traveling westbound when, for reasons still under investigation, he crossed into the eastbound turning lane and struck another vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, an adult female, was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition. Authorities have confirmed that the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident.
