Grand Blanc, Michigan — The Grand Blanc community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Logan Welch, a beloved husband, son, and friend who was tragically taken in a senseless act of violence at his workplace on November 5th. The devastating event has left an entire community grieving the loss of a kind and compassionate young man whose warmth, laughter, and love touched every life around him.

Logan went to Grand Blanc High School and proudly called Grand Blanc, Michigan, his lifelong home. He was deeply connected to his family, his friends, and his roots — a man who carried his hometown spirit wherever he went.

He was married to his high school sweetheart, Hannah Welch, who was not only his wife but his best friend and constant source of joy. Their love story began in their teenage years and blossomed into a partnership that those around them often described as inspiring and pure. Together, they shared laughter, adventures, and dreams of the future — dreams that reflected their deep devotion and unwavering love.

Those who knew Logan describe him as the kind of person who brightened every room he entered — thoughtful, hardworking, and full of humor. He had a way of making everyone feel valued and seen, whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or a simple smile.

The tragedy that took Logan’s life unfolded at Trims Unlimited in Almont, where he had been working. One coworker, who had been on a temporary assignment at the business, shared a deeply emotional account of the event:

“Rest in peace, Logan Welch. Good Lord, please take him into your loving arms.
I have been working a temporary assignment at Trims Unlimited in Almont over the last few months. The owner’s son was shot and killed today at the business. I worked about 2 ft from the shooter at the same workstation for over three and a half weeks. If not for going on to second shift on Tuesday night, I would have been there at that workstation when he came in and shot Logan.
Heartbroken for the family. Prayers please.
This world is so messed up. People, please just love each other. Hug those who you love as often as you can and tell them you love them every day. Nothing else matters. Call, text, mail, email — find a way. Someone needs to feel how much you love them today.”

These words echo the pain and disbelief felt by everyone who knew Logan — a reminder of how fragile life is and how deeply love and compassion matter in the face of tragedy.

As Hannah faces unimaginable grief, her community is rallying around her, lifting her up with prayers, love, and support. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created to help her through the coming days — to cover funeral expenses, living costs, and time away from work so she can focus on healing and remembering the man who meant everything to her.
