Gregory Perri, Carbondale, Pennsylvania Obituary: Gregory Daniel Perri passed away in an ATV accident

Following an accident on Monday, Simpson resident Gregory D. Perri, 13, tragically died. At the Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, he was declared dead.

Greg was the adored son of Chelsea and Chris Cicio, Gregory A. Perri, and his partner, Kimberly Kaminsky, and was born in Honesdale. He attended Carbondale Area School District and was in the seventh grade.

Greg loved anything with wheels and an engine and had an adventurous attitude. He had an incomparable love for motocross and outdoor pursuits, and he was capable of handling any motorized vehicle.

He is survived by his parents and eight siblings: Paisley, Raelyn, and Kylie Perri; Callie, Brooke, Brandon, and Chris Cicio; and Lilliana Cerra. He also leaves behind his maternal grandfather, Bruno Rocuba; maternal great-grandparents, Valerie and Joseph White; his aunt, Sabrina Rocuba; his uncle, Daniel Perri; a great aunt; and several cousins.

Greg was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Melissa Rocuba, and paternal grandfather, Angelo Perri.

Tragic Accident in Lackawanna County

On Monday evening, Greg lost his life in an ATV accident in Carbondale Township, Lackawanna County. According to Coroner Tim Rowland, his ATV collided with a sport utility vehicle on Electric Street near Meredith Street. Greg became trapped beneath the SUV and was rushed to the hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Two of the four people inside the SUV were hospitalized at the time of the collision. Their present circumstances are unknown.

Police in Carbondale Township are currently looking into the event and have not yet decided whether to press charges.

Visits and Services

On Friday from 4 to 7 PM, family and friends are welcome to visit the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc., which is situated at 621 Main St., Simpson, to offer their condolences. The family will be given a private burial.

Greg’s love of adventure, his fearlessness, and the happiness he brought to everyone around him will live on in his memory.
