The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of Jovon Fryar, 40, and Lavar Wilson, 39, both of Walterboro, in connection with the fatal shooting.

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, reporting a shooting at a residence located on Cleveland Street. Deputies arrived at the scene to find an adult male victim suffering from severe gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to provide medical assistance, the victim tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

As the investigation unfolded, detectives learned that the shooting resulted from a heated argument between the victim and Jovon Fryar, who was allegedly involved in the confrontation inside the home.
