Garland Community Shaken After Deadly Apartment Complex Shooting Leaves One Teen Dead, Three Others Injured — Suspect Still at Large

 

GARLAND, TX — April 18, 2025 — A quiet Friday evening in Garland, Texas, was shattered by gunfire that erupted at an apartment complex, leaving four people — including two children — shot, and one teenager tragically dead. The violent incident took place around 6:30 p.m. at a residential complex in the 3800 block of West Walnut Street.

Victims and Response

Garland police confirmed that four individuals from multiple families were struck by gunfire: a 3-year-old child, a 15-year-old teenager, a 19-year-old adult, and a 42-year-old adult. All four victims were immediately transported to local hospitals for emergency medical treatment.

Despite the efforts of first responders and hospital staff, the 15-year-old did not survive their injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. As of Saturday, the names of the victims have not yet been released, and the conditions of the surviving victims remain unknown.
