A normally quiet neighborhood near Benjamin Avenue and Davenport Avenue in Saginaw was rocked Friday evening by the sound of multiple gunshots, sparking concern and fear among local residents and triggering an urgent response from the Saginaw Police Department (SPD).
According to initial reports, witnesses heard between seven to eight gunshots around the intersection of Benjamin and Davenport just before 8:00 p.m. Multiple calls to 911 were made shortly afterward, prompting a rapid dispatch of SPD units to the area.
Officers arrived on the scene within minutes and quickly began canvassing the area for victims, suspects, and any physical evidence, including shell casings or surveillance footage from nearby homes or businesses. At this time, it is not yet confirmed whether there are any injuries or fatalities, and the investigation remains active and fluid.
