Tragic Loss: San Antonio Community Mourns the Passing of William Christopher Tutt

​With profound sorrow, we announce the untimely passing of William Christopher Tutt, a cherished member of the San Antonio, Texas, community. At 54 years old, William’s life was tragically cut short on March 25, 2025, in a devastating collision with a school bus. This heartbreaking event has left his family, friends, and the broader community in deep mourning.​

A Life of Dedication and Service

William was widely recognized for his unwavering commitment to cognitive behavioral therapy, specializing in urban psychotherapy. With over 15 years of experience, he focused on understanding the “hood mentality” and urban identity theory. Born in Mobile, Alabama, William was a devoted husband and father of four. His professional contributions included serving as a consultant for Bexar County ReCast and acting as a gang advisor for the San Antonio Crime Coalition since 2012. Additionally, he was a member of the Commissioner Court Reentry Council from 2010 onward. In 2016, William published the manuscript Urban Psychotherapy, and in 2018, he received a resolution from the Texas House of Representatives acknowledging his significant contributions. Beyond his therapeutic work, he was a certified MMA and boxing trainer and served as a subject matter specialist for SAMHSA from 2016. ​

The Tragic Incident

The fatal accident occurred around 5 p.m. near the intersection of westbound Loop 410 and Starcrest Drive. William’s sedan collided with a stationary North East Independent School District (NEISD) school bus that was in the process of dropping off a student. Despite the severity of the collision, the bus driver and the student remained unharmed. Authorities have stated that no criminal charges are expected in this case. ​
