Eldon Lewis, 27, was arrested in October on a Class 3A felony charge of Intentional Cruelty to an Animal.

Police discovered blood stains, cat fur, zip ties, and an axe in the garage of Lewis’ home, according to an arrest document. Lewis also preserved the cat’s head, which was in a coffee can nearby. While in the jail, Lewis said something along the lines of “curiosity killed the cat,” according to the officers, and he showed no remorse for his crimes.

Having entered a no contest plea to an upgraded Class 4 Felony charge of Cruelty to an Animal Resulting in Death, Lewis was sentenced to 24 months in prison by District Judge Derek Weimer on Wednesday.K.
